Well done to the 8 Y5 & Y6 pupils who took part in the very first Triathlon organised by our School Sports Partnership. The event involved them running for 4 minutes, cycling for 2 minutes and swimming for 3 minutes as fast as they could!
What a great team effort they delivered with congratulations to the whole team. Evie won the Gold Medal and Isabelle who won the Silver Medal for Y5 Girls which was a great achievement.
This term we are going to be finding out all about the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings.

Hurrah! Well done Year 5, you did it! After illnesses, accidents, snow and microphone malfunctions we finally put on our assembly and it was brilliant! I am so proud of everyone and a big thank you to those who stepped in to learn other's lines at the very last minute.

The Right Worshipful The Mayor of Durham came to visit school. The Mayor is called Councillor Bill Kellet and the Mayoress is called Mrs Jean Chaplow. He brought his Bodyguard with him.

Oct 2017 - Year 5 Quicksticks Hockey at Maiden Castle
Oct 2017 - We had great fun and lots of exercise attending the KS 2 Quicksticks Hockey Festival at Maiden Castle. We warmed up to music, were given lots of information about how to play hockey safely. We then enjoyed practising the skills of dribbling and pushing the ball before moving on to playing matches against other schools.
Nov 2017 - Re-start a Heart Day. Year had the chance to become First Aiders and learned how to administer CPR and put a casualty into the recovery position.

Sept 2017 - Celebrating European Day of Languages. We were very lucky to have Mrs Hamill (Fergus' Mam) in school. She taught us how to say the names of the planets in french and we learned a song called Alouette which we performed to the rest of the school in assembly. A big 'thank you' to Mrs Hamill for giving up her time to come in.
