DURHAM BIG SING
Join in the Durham Big Sing on 25th June at 2pm. We will be singing various songs and will include links each week for new songs to learn. We are learning these songs in school and it would be great if those of you at home can join in too. There is a short introductory video you might like to watch:
Well done everyone who took part in the Big Sing on Thursday. We had lots of fun at school and I know lots of you joined in at home. We even got a few shout outs! Can you think which song was our favourite?
Music at Home and at School
Remember to access the Durham Music Service Youtube site on #DMShomesessions. Please send us pictures of any musical activities you and your family are taking part in.
Here is some of the music we have been doing at home and school:
Today the Year 2 and 3 Key Worker Group took part in the first ever the Durham Music Service live lesson. We learnt a new song called Mary Mack's Mother. It had lots of tongue twisters in. We also starting to sing in 2 parts. We really enjoyed it and can't wait for our next live lesson on Wednesday when we will be learning the ukulele.
There are lots of other live lessons that Durham Music are doing - go to their Youtube page to find out more!

Thanks to our Photography Exhibition and our special guest judge the 12 winners were chosen with a special winner winning a place on the front cover!
Well Done to all our winners and for those who have supported us by buying our first Finchale Calendar.
Thank you to everyone who took part during the Summer Holidays. We have had 170 entries from Students, Parents, Teachers and Governors; all showing inspiring images.
A special judging panel has reviewed them all and we have chosen our 32 finalists!
See them all below, proudly, with their certificates.
On Thursday 7th November we had a photograph exhibition where everyone who came to look at the final 32 photos were asked to vote for their top 6 photographs so that we could have 13 final photographs to make our Finchale Calendar 2020.
Thank you to everyone who came to support us especially those students who came to vote from the local Comprehensive schools. We had 165 people who voted.
Thank you also to our special judge, an art teacher, from our local comprehensive school, who came to pick the one photograph that will be proudly upon the front of our calendar this year.
The results have been calculated and the results will be announced shortly!
Thank you to Jay de Silva who came in to teach us all about Diwali and to run workshops in Reception and Year 3.
The whole school learned about the festival in our school assembly before Reception created Rangoli patterns out of coloured rice and Year 3 decorated jars for tea lights. Both Reception and Year 3 also took part in some traditional Indian dancing, which everyone enjoyed throughly.
At the start of September 2019 Year 3 looked at various kinds of scribble art. As part of a 'Get to know you' activity we decided to create our own scribble art with hidden pictures within the loops depicting what we like doing or eating.
Can you see any hidden images?
