Paws and Claws
Year 6's end of year production was Paws and Claws, a battle of wits between cats and dogs. The children worked very hard to learn their lines and improve their acting skills and the singing was amazing!
The Year 4, 5 and 6 Brass concert.
The children in Years 4 and 5 were awarded with their Durham Music Service Stars certificates, celebrating their hard work and achievement this year.
Reception Dance
Tin Arts Dance came into school to work with the children in Reception class. Their focus was the coast and anything they could see or do at the seaside, like building sandcastles. They had a great time.
A Right Royal Do.
The children in Years 5 and 6 were invited to take part in A Right Royal Do. It was a celebration of the Queens Platinum Jubilee and links with the Commonwealth. The children enjoyed 5 weeks of tuition from Gospel singer April Olatunji, where they learnt about the history behind gospel singing and some songs. They spent the day at the Gala Theatre rehearsing their performance on stage. There were opportunities for the classes to take part in activities such as origami and yoga. The evening performance was a great success, with children from many schools showing the audience their skills in Bollywood dancing, African drumming and Steel pan drumming, before the finale of the gospel choir 'Voices of Virtue'.
