Meet our SENCOs and Mental Health Supports

Miss Johnstone (Y1) and Mrs Marley (Y5) are our Special Educational Needs and Disability Co-ordinators at Finchale Primary. They also support our Mental Health Champion, Dr. Sandra Whitton. Miss Johnstone is responsible for Special Educational Needs (SEN) for children in Reception through to February in Y3, whilst Mrs. Marley is responsible for children from February in Y3 through to the end of Year 6. They are supported in their roles by Dr. Sandra Whitton, Head Teacher and Mental Health Lead, who is a highly experienced and fully trained SENCO herself, as well as Mrs Rice who is our Wellbeing Co-ordinator.

Meet our Mental Health Lead and Wellbeing Co-ordinator

Hello, I am Dr. Sandra Whitton and as well as being the Head Teacher at Finchale, I am also the Mental Health Lead for the School and I aim to signpost additional help and resources for any children who may present with issues such as stress, anxiety and low mood. Our Wellbeing Co-ordinator, Mrs. Rice, provides a range of support for children within school as well as supporting parents and carers.
