Our chicks arrived!
We had so much fun taking part in the Living Eggs Project. We successfully hatched 9 healthy chicks and we enjoyed playing with them and caring for them. Have a look at the presentation below to see what we got up too...

Time for the balance bikes!
We had lots of fun working with Darren from the School Sports Partnership. We mastered the balance bikes and some of us even moved onto the pedal bikes.
Chinese New Year
We enjoyed celebrating Chinese New Year. We listened to the story of how the Chinese calendar began, found out about traditions celebrated during Chinese New Year and we tasted some Chinese food. We made our own Chinese lanterns and dancing dragons and even made up our own dragon dances.
Then we got a chance to share what we had found out with our friends and families, during our class assembly.

Our outfits included numbers, shapes, times table rock stars and Numberblocks.
Rocket Making
European Day of Languages
Reception focussed on Spain. We tried our version of Sangria, oranges, figs and chorizo.
We looked at some photographs of buildings and features in Barcelona, Spain that were designed by an architect called Antonio Gaudi. We made a mosaic collage lizard based on what we saw.
We dressed in red and yellow, the colours of the Spanish flags.
Colour Run
Chris and Jen from the Durham School Sports Partnership came into school to deliver a whole school event. We had so much fun!
On National Fitness Day, Leanne from LK Fitness put us through our paces!
