At Finchale Primary School, we pride ourselves on the positive and caring ethos we actively promote. This is created by our school community working together to create a family atmosphere in which our pupils can flourish and achieve. We call this our ‘Finchale Family’.
Our culture and ethos are underpinned by our school values:
Trust
Respect
Resilience
Inclusivity
Community
Kindness
By upholding these values, we enable our children to thrive and grow into creative, successful youngsters.
Our curriculum has been designed to prepare our young people for the next steps in their school career, and life itself. We want our children to be ambitious and to have aspirations which we can support them to achieve. Broadening our children’s horizons, providing support and giving them confidence drives our curriculum. Our Personal Development offer gives the children the knowledge and understanding they need make informed choices so they can make a positive contribution to the communities to which they belong.
Through our curriculum, children will develop a wealth of skills, knowledge and understanding that will enable them to become valued members of our community and be ready for the ever-changing and diverse world in which we live. We aim to develop outward looking pupils who have the tools to communicate effectively while having a strong understanding of themselves, their community and the wider world. In this way we can develop young people ready to play their unique part in our world.
Our Pupil Charter
Our pupils have worked with Mrs. Hood and Mrs. Sleeman to develop a new Pupil Charter which takes account of our school values and the protected characteristics which are accepted in our society today.
