Watching Wildlife

A variety of birds and a little mouse, visited the bird feeder in January.

Nesting Blue Tits

Here is an adult Blue Tit, sitting on eggs in one of the nest boxes Finchale pupils made during the first lockdown. At least three of the boxes made by pupils are being used by Blue Tits this year.

Mr Addinall has set up a motion capture camera in the school grounds. It focuses on a bird feeder and the camera has captured lots of wildlife so far.

Nest Boxes

In the first lockdown, some pupils made nest boxes and these have been attached to trees around the school grounds. In 2020 we had at least one successful nesting of Blue Tits and in 2021 we think up to five nest boxes were used.
