20/01/20 - As part of our RE topic this term (What can we learn about Christian worship and beliefs by visiting churches?) we visited All Saints' Church and spent the afternoon finding Christian symbols and objects.

21/01/20 - Today Primary Enterprise helped us to learn about urban life, which is linked to our Geography topic this term; Why do we have cities? We enjoyed looking at different houses and playing the cost of living game. Thank you to our visitors.

18/12/19 - As part of our RE topic we have been thinking about why Advent is important to Christians and how they celebrate it. As part of this work we created our own class Advent Calendar.

16/12/19 - Year 3 had fun today taking part in a Multi- Sports event. We improved our sprinting skills and learned a street dance. We had a lot of fun. Thank you to all our lovely helpers.

14/11/19 - Captain Chemistry came in today and taught us all about forces and magnets. We: separated materials into magnetic and not magnetic; thought about how compasses work and made our won compass; looked at forces on a boat and created our own boat; explored the forces needed for a rocket and launched our own on the yard. Thank you to Captain Chemistry for a great day!

06/11/19 - We celebrated Diwali today as part of our RE topic on Hinduism. We learned that Diwali is the festival of light and with Jay de Silva we decorated jars so we could put tea lights in at home and remember all about Diwali. We also learned some traditional Indian dancing and performed our own routine at the end of the day. We had a lot of fun, thank you to Jay de Silva!

24/10/19 - Spooky Maths Day at Finchale! Year 3 had a lot of fun making a witch's potion by solving some place value problems and we even got to taste it at the end of the day. A lot of Maths fun!

This year instead of building 30 Stonehenges the children looked at various stone circles that are still present around the UK and we made some awesome models. We hope this inspires you to learn more about the UK's stone circles.

11/10/19 - In class we have been learning about how Fossils are made and learning about Mary Anning. For homework Mrs McGuire set us a challenge to create our own fossils and these are a few of our creations.

Some of our children in KS2 took part in the Durham Schools Cross Country competition and represented our school in such a positive way! All children were excellent. The levels of determination, sportsmanship and respect that we saw were wonderful. Well done in particular to the Y3/Y4 Boys team who came 1st in the competition and the Y3/4 Girls team who came second! We had many personal bests. Well done!

26/09/18 - European Day of Languages- Eating Moroccan food.

25/09/18 - Tri Golf trip

September 2019 - As part of our 'Getting to know you' topic we looked at different kinds of scribble art. We created our own and added some hidden images in the loops showing what we like doing or eating. Our art is now displayed in the KS2 corridor. Can you spot our hidden images?

04/09/19 - We pledged to follow our class rules today. We made origami stars and pinned them on our rules.
