Thank you for visiting our website. I am very proud to serve as Head Teacher of Finchale Primary School and it is my pleasure to introduce you to our school.
Finchale Primary is a thriving school which prides itself on its pupil-centred approach to learning. It provides a rich and exciting curriculum for pupils based on their needs and interests as can be seen on the class pages of our website. The pupils help shape the direction of the school whilst developing valuable skills which will help ensure they are caring, concerned, articulate and empowered citizens of the future. We are sited in a fantastic building, providing an exciting and stimulating learning environment for everyone. Outside, we have two large yards and an enclosed area with large climbing frame and soft surface for our Reception and Year 1 children to use, extending their classroom activities as well as a very large school field with tyre track and trim trail. We also have a 200m running track which children use to complete the daily mile as well as a large Multi Games Area. Additional resources outdoors include a Reception Canopy where pupils can work under cover, an outdoor classroom, two Reading Rooms, wall murals and fixed play equipment on both our yards. All of these enhance our learning areas, both inside and out, for all our pupils.

and we achieve this through high quality teaching and learning, well matched to the needs and interests of all our pupils. We believe that pupils learn most effectively when they are enthusiastic, interested and enjoy their learning and when teachers are confident, knowledgeable and creative in their teaching. I am very proud of the talented staff we have at Finchale who, together, constantly strive to provide the very best for the pupils in our care.
Our school has an active PTA, The Friends of Finchale, who have support the school in a number of ways, including  our recent outdoor developments and a superb Governing Body who are extremely active in supporting the aims of the school.
We also benefit from the Ofsted registered Canterbury Kids Club which provides excellent before and after school care for children on our school site, in purpose built premises.
