It was a non uniform day and children wore red noses, red nose t-shirts or other items and made donations to show their support for Comic Relief. Comic relief raises money to support people and families in the UK and abroad.
On Friday March 21st, it was World Down Syndrome Day. Down Syndrome is a genetic condition where a person is born with an extra chromosome. We celebrated the occasion by coming to school wearing odd socks. In assembly we talked about how everyone should be treated with kindness, respect and consideration and acknowledged that at times we all needed help and support and that can be different for everybody. For people with Down Syndrome, getting the right support at the right time opens up opportunities; so they can live the lives they want, giving them choice, control and dignity.
NSPCC Number Day
Today the children dressed as Rockstars, Number Blocks, Numbots or other number inspired themes, to raise money for the NSPCC. The children took part in various activities and challenges, related to number, throughout the day. They even tried to guess how many Jellybeans were in the jar!
